WWE TLC 2015 news: Are factions on the rise again?

World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) TLC is fast approaching and while three matches have so far been confirmed, the WWE may still have to do a lot of tweaking to make sure the upcoming pay-per-view (PPV) doesn't end up disastrous.

Already announced as of this writing are the ones below via WWE.com:

  • WWE heavyweight champion Sheamus vs. Roman Reigns
  • WWE intercontinental champion Kevin Owens vs. Dean Ambrose
  • Triple Threat match for the WWE Tag Team title match (featuring the New Day, The Usos, and The Lucha Dragons)

Still to be announced are the matches that would involve the WWE Divas championship currently held by Charlotte and perhaps Alberto Del Rio's U.S. title.

Charlotte looks like she will have to deal with Paige once again while Del Rio could be defending his title against Jack Swagger. That is unless new faces come into the picture.

But the main beef for the PPV is, of course, that one involving Sheamus and Reigns. In the last WWE RAW episode, Sheamus introduced the new League of Nations, a new faction made up of heels that include Rusev, King Barrett, The New Day, and Del Rio.

It remains to be seen if this new group will have any weight on the matches aforementioned, although it seems to hint at the good old days of the Ministry of Darkness and the Corporation, among others.

This is obviously a new color added by the WWE, although it still lacks something to make it all work. Sheamus has been impressive as a heel right now, but a lot of it is seen to snuff out the boos thrown Reigns' way.

Hence, it could spark the rise of a hero and this, obviously, points at Reigns. From the looks of it, the League of Nations could get involved in this one, although don't be surprised is a face faction suddenly rises soon.

But if that were the case, it could divert the attention from the WWE titles toward the same things seen during the Attitude Era. So is the WWE buying time for its injured stars with this move?
