WWE Rumors: CM Punk to allow AJ Lee to return to WWE?

CM Punk is busy preparing for his Universal Fighting Championship (UFC) debut but to this day, questions linked to the World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) regarding his leaving and the retirement of wife AJ Lee are still thrown each time he gets interviewed.

Punk unceremoniously left the WWE due to reasons that many are aware of, topped of course by his claim that the WWE doesn't look after its stars' health in the right manner.

While that issue is still in the air, the WWE did already give out a statement and refuted the claims of Punk.

Rather than engage in a word war, Punk seems to have set it aside to focus on more important matters such as his UFC debut. Depending on his preparation, Punk believes that he could make his debut by late 2015 or early 2016.

What about his wife AJ Lee? Did she retire (allegedly) because of the soured relationship between her husband and the company?

While that is in the air, Punk made mention that does not get in the way of what his wife loves. In fact if Lee would want to return to the WWE, he would support it.

"We're trying to [move on]," Punk said during an interview with Ariel Helwani of Cageside Seats. "It's funny, you do these interviews and people cherry-pick and they'll try to twist my words so they get the answers that they want, but she can go back tomorrow and I wouldn't care. You know what I mean? It's her decision," he added.

Truth of the matter is that even though it is not surprising for Punk not to watch the WWE, he did so before but only when his wife was still wrestling. Apparently it was his way of supporting his wife. Other than that, Punk seems to prefer doing something else of more importance.

While Punk appears to be open in letting Lee return to the WWE, chances are it will not happen. Lee is a three-time Divas Champion and holds the record for the longest reign as champion with 295 days.

The WWE is of course trying to reach and erase that through Nikki Bella who is the current champion and has been so for the past 243 days.

Lee returning to the WWE? From the looks of it right now, seeing that is pretty unlikely. Check out the full video of CM Punk's interview:
