WWE Elimination Chamber 2015 news, rumors: Bray Wyatt to replace Rusev

Bray Wyatt stands to take the place of The Bulgarian Brute Rusev at WWE Elimination Chamber after the latter reportedly got injured during a match with Ryback at WWE Smackdown.

A report from the Wrestling Observer bared that Rusev injured his ankle and photos later on surfaced showing the Bulgarian Brute on a wheelchair and in a cast

With that development, Rusev will miss his chance to try and capture the WWE Intercontinental title and word has it that Bray Wyatt could likely be tapped to take his place.

All this remains unofficial for now but seeing that Rusev is not 100% fit to compete, such could be announced in the next days before WWE Elimination Chamber takes place at Corpus Christi, Texas.

With Rusev out, the storyline involving him, Dolph Ziggler and Lana could be shelved for now.

It will be recalled that Rusev is in the middle of a feud with Ziggler and Lana, his former handler. After constantly laying the blame on the ravishing Russian, Lana left the Bulgarian Brute and aligned herself with Ziggler.

With Rusev out, the wrestlers left to compete based on the original billing are Ryback, Sheamus, King Barrett, R-Truth and Dolph Ziggler. It remains to be seen if Bray Wyatt would be the sixth competitor and the one chosen by the WWE to replace Rusev.

The IC title is currently vacant after former champion Daniel Bryan was forced to relinquish the title due to health concerns stemming from injury. Bryan won the title during Wrestlemania 31 when he beat out Ziggler and other competitors in a ladder match.

Wyatt should be a wise choice given his work ethic and aggressive nature to fill up the untimely vacancy. However, he may have his hands full against the powerhouses included in the bunch, notably Sheamus and Ryback among others.

WWE Elimination Chamber takes place this Sunday at Corpus Christi in Texas at 8PM ET and 5PM PT. It will be aired exclusively via the WWE Network.
