'World of Final Fantasy' release date: PS4 and PS Vita getting it this October

 Square Enix

Square Enix will finally release the "World of Final Fantasy" role-playing video game for PlayStation 4 and PS Vita this October.

The game will first come out in North America on Oct. 25, followed by Japan on Oct. 27. European players can start purchasing the game on Oct. 28. This will come almost a month after the release of "Final Fantasy XV" in September.

According to the official "Final Fantasy" Facebook page, the pre-order copies for day one edition of "World of Final Fantasy" will come with the iconic Sephiroth from "Final Fantasy VII."

The game studio released the official synopsis for the upcoming RPG, which reads:

"In World of Final Fantasy, players lead a pair of twins, Reynn and Lann, through the land of Grymoire on a search to rediscover their lost memories. Throughout their adventure, players will collect, raise and battle adorable beings of classic Final Fantasy lore, including cactuar, chocobo and behemoth, to create customizable, strategic tower combinations to take on the most challenging of opponents."

Square Enix discussed several important details regarding the upcoming game in an interview with Famitsu that was spotted by Gematsu. According to the studio, they are currently doing all the finishing touches on the game to make sure that it will be ready for release in October.

They also revealed that they are making sure that the game will be played carefree by creating a system that can easily help players shift from the dungeon to the town and vice versa anytime they wish.

A trailer for the game has been released in both English and Japanese versions, and Square Enix Japan is also reportedly hosting the first live stream for "World of Final Fantasy" with game director Hiroki Chiba and voice actor Soma Saito on Sunday, June 12. This can be seen live worldwide on YouTube and Niconico.
