The fate of Ivar The Boneless (Alex Høgh Andersen) had been teased in the latest trailer for the second half of "Vikings" season 4.
Based on the new trailer released by The History Channel, Ragnar's (Travis Fimmel) son will deal with the return of their father years after he decided to abandon them and his throne after the failed raid in Paris.
One of the scenes showed Bjorn (Alexander Ludwig), Ragnar's son with Lagertha (Katheryn Winnick), as he received a warning about the possible chaos that will erupt upon the return of his father. But Bjorn does not seem to mind.
Meanwhile, Ragnar was also seen giving a pep talk to his other son, Ivar, in the new promo trailer. Ragnar promised his fourth son with Aslaug (Alyssa Sutherland) that there will come a time when the world will recognize and fear Ivar's name. This could mean that Ivar will be trained by his father, as the sons of the fallen king of Kattegat continue to conquer the world.
The second half of "Vikings" season 4 will also introduce a new character in Lagertha's life. In an interview with Entertainment Weekly in August, series creator Michael Hirst teased that Ragnar's first wife will have a female lover when the series returns next month.
According to Hirst, Lagertha will be involved with a woman named Astrid (Josefin Asplund) after years of relationships with men who betrayed her. "I'm not saying that she's suddenly discovered that she's a lesbian, that's not the point. The point is, she's in a relationship with someone she feels more comfortable with, someone she feels she might be able to trust, and it's a woman," the series creator stated.
The next set of episodes for the second half of "Vikings" season 4 will be released by The History Channel on Sunday, Nov. 30.
