The "Transformers" film saga is expected to release its fifth installment next year. To increase anticipation, director Michael Bay has announced on social media that the upcoming movie titled "The Last Knight" will be teased next month.

The director, who's known for movies that incorporate mayhem and mass destruction, uploaded a video on Facebook that seems to heed the call of fans musing about the upcoming "Transformers" film. Moreover, Bay stated that the teaser of the film will be shown in theaters during screenings of "Rogue One" on Dec. 16.

The upcoming film's story plot is still undisclosed as of the moment. However, there are already fan theories that are spinning on how the movie will turn out. If these speculations are anything to go by, it is said that "Transformers: The Last Knight" will be somewhat linked to the medieval period as behind-the-scenes snippets of the upcoming film featured men in full armor that seem to be heading for battle. Furthermore, there was even a scene where the Stonehenge was spotted thus fueling another story plot. That being said, other fans believe that the humanoid metal men may be traveling back in time, though such rumors are a bit far-fetched.

Meanwhile, it is expected that Optimus Prime will be back together with Bumblebee. It is not yet sure though as to who will be the additional Transformers that will accompany the duo in their upcoming battle. In addition, it is also likely that Megatron will be making a comeback since his DNA was used by humans in building a man-made Transformer named Galvatron in "Age of Extinction."

The rumor mill is also spinning quite frantically that this won't be the last "Transformers" movie as it is speculated that it might have a crossover film with the soldiers of "G.I. Joe."

"Transformers: The Last Knight" is slated to premiere on June 23, 2017.
