Toronto Raptors trade rumors 2016: Paul Millsap instead of Blake Griffin?

It was previously reported that the Raptors may get involved with a three-way trade that involves Denver Nuggets and Philadelphia 76ers. Toronto will get Kenneth Faried while Nuggets would have Nerlens Noel, and possibly Carl Landry from the 76ers. It is said that the Raptors would benefit much with the deal. It also added that the team is targeting Blake Griffin from the Los Angeles Clippers.

However, Atlanta Hawks have suddenly put Paul Millsap up for grabs in order to accommodate Al Horford. The Hawks also signed in Dwight Howard, a hometown product, as well as re-sign Kent Bazemore. Thus the urge to let go of Millsap. The Hawks and Raptors may want to sit down for some serious talks, as Yibada reported.

Inquisitr added that even if Raptor is interested with Millsap, it does not immediately mean that he will end up with the team. One possible scenario is that Thabo Sefolosha and Millsap will go to Denver, in exchange for Gary Harris, Wilson Chandler and Kenneth Farried.

Meanwhile, the team got some bad news, Delon Wright will be out of commission for at least 4 months in order to recuperate from an arthroscopic shoulder surgery. This was announced on the team's official Twitter account the other day.

Also, the team has recently announced that they have signed Jarrod Uthoff (YOU-toff). The 6-foot-9, 221 pound forward played for Iowa for the past three seasons averaging 13.0 points, 1.7 blocks and 5.8 rebounds in his 100-game college career. He also ranked 19th all-time in Hawkeyes scoring with 1,298 points, rank 10th in three-pointer at 137 and got into fourth for blocked shots with 177. He remained undrafted this year, but played with Sacramento during the NBA Summer League 2016. The details of his contract was not disclosed as per the team's policy.

Currently, Toronto's frontcourt includes Patrick Patterson (power forward/center), Jakob Poeltl (power forward/center), Jared Sullinger (power forward/center), Jonas Valanciunas (center), Lucas Nogueira (center) and Pascal Siakam (power forward). Nogueira has played for 35 NBA games, while .Poeltl and Siakam are on their first year of their professional career.
