The "The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt" adds two more awards to its long list of accolades. It has been cited by the recently concluded South by Southwest or SXSW 2016, held in Austin, Texas, and the Game Developers Conference or GDC 2016, held in San Francisco, California. Both events happened last week.

It has been a majestic week for CD Projekt Red, the game developer and publisher, after receiving two more Game of the Year awards for their latest pet project.

This is in addition to the more than 800 awards collected, of which 250 are for Game of the Year, since its release on May 19 last year. A few of the prominent award-giving bodies that recognized the game are the Golden Joystick Award, which is also known as the People's Gaming Awards, The Game Awards, and D.I.C.E. Awards.

The game garnered different awards in different categories such as gameplay design, visual design, sound design and many more. It also has "Best" awards in the criteria of storytelling, gaming moment and role-playing. CD Projekt Red got the Studio of the Year award during the Golden Joystick event.

At the 16th GDC, the third game in the "The Witcher" series also took home the Best Technology award for its complex game engine, beating "Metal Gear Solid V," "Star Wars: Battlefront," "Fallout 4," and "Just Cause 3," as Game Spot reported.

Meanwhile, at the SXSW 2016, IGN added that the award-winning game also took home the Excellence in Technical Achievement and Excellence in Narrative awards.

"The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt" is an open-world action role-playing video game and is also considered as a high fantasy one. The game is based on the fantasy novels of the same title by Andrzej Sapkowski, a Polish author. Prior to its launching, the game reached 1.5 million pre-orders while 6 million copies were sold during its first six weeks. The highly successful third installment in the series has put CD Projekt Red in the gaming industry map.

CD Projekt Red is currently busy with the highly anticipated "Cyberpunk 2077."
