Developer Electronic Arts recently announced the "Day of the Dead" challenge for their highly successful life simulation game, "The Sims 4." The ongoing challenge is one of the studio's latest offerings for the fans to help celebrate the Halloween festivities around the world.
The "Day of the Dead" challenge will run from Oct. 4 at 10:00 a.m. PT to Nov. 4 at 10:00 a.m. PT. The event will also bring back Jasmin Holiday, a non-playable character (NPC), to the game to get the Sims started with their Sugar Skull Display Case.
Players will then need to let their Sims go out and meet the other "Day of the Dead" celebrators in the neighborhood, where several items connected to the event must be collected. A new interaction, "Ask for Sugar Skull," should also be used to the other NPCs for the items. A final Sugar Skull piece will be unlocked once the 9-piece collection is complete.
"When your Sim has filled up their display case with all 10 Sugar Skulls, the case unlocks a new interaction called Honor the Dead. Aside from looking totally awesome, this gives your Sim a moodlet that unlocks new interactions with the Grim Reaper, increases their relationship gain with him and (and this is super cool) also gives a high chance of success when pleading for another Sim's life! Don't worry, whilst you won't be able to collect the Sugar Skulls after the challenge finishes, the Honor the Dead interaction will remain available," EA stated.
Meanwhile, the Sims team also revealed that the current "Holiday Celebration Free Pack" will be updated and will have additional items for the upcoming Christmas holiday. The Sims character will have a festive wardrobe, formal wear, Christmas sweaters, and elf hats. Holiday-themed decorations will also be included such as holiday fireplace, nutcrackers, and stacks of gifts to be placed around the Christmas tree.
"The Sims 4 Day of the Dead" challenge will run from Oct. 4 until Nov. 4.
