"The Sims 4" is not getting an Xbox One version or a PlayStation 4 edition anytime soon. This is what game producer Lyndsay Pearson emphasized in her latest tweet.
"I want to clarify that we have no plans for a console version of The Sims 4 anytime in the near future," Pearson tweeted, urging fans to "ignore the rumors."
In the recent months, it was reported that "The Sims 4" was being ported over to the PS4 and Xbox One and that publisher Electronic Arts was having a hard time making it work allegedly due to persistent issues.
This rumor then gave birth to more reports about the company throwing away its plans to bring the game to the console altogether, but not only because it was problematic.
It was also reportedly because it is not worth the trouble, seeing that "The Sims 4" was not as popular as its predecessor and that a console release may end up being a flop. This led to another report claiming "The Sims 5" has become EA's focus.
Pearson did not offer an explanation as to why "The Sims 4" is not getting some PS4 and Xbox One love or if they ever tried or planned a console release.
Although "The Sims" titles are usually made for the PC, the previous iterations of the games were brought to other platforms. It is unclear as to why "The Sims 4" is not getting the same treatment.
For now, those who want to enjoy the life simulation game can play it on a PC, where the game is continuously expanded with more downloadable content being released.
Just recently, the Backyard Stuff pack was released to the "The Sims 4." An additional update came in the form of a nanny, which Sims can now hire to babysit their kids.
