"The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild" is probably one of the most celebrated titles of this year. It quickly acquired a huge following soon after it was released. Now, the developers are looking to keep the momentum going, as the first downloadable content (DLC) for the title has been announced.

Polygon reports that the aforementioned "The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild" DLC is called "The Master Trials." It is the first of the two confirmed add-ons coming to the game. It is currently scheduled for release sometime this summer, while the second DLC is slated for a holiday season release.

Via the Expansion Pass, players will be able to acquire both DLCs for $19.99. The first content is expected to introduce Hard Mode, which, as the name suggests, will give birth to tougher enemies. Also, the ranks of every monster will be raised, with the possibility of new creatures surfacing. It is worth noting that these new creatures have yet to exist in the current version of the title.

"The Master Trials" in "The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild" will also give Link, the game's protagonist, a hard time. That is because whenever he sneaks into a fortress, the enemies are able to detect him more easily. Not just that: During battles, these monsters are able to regenerate even more quickly.

The content will also arrive with a new option called "Hero's Path Mode." Nintendo refers to it as the newest feature for the in-game map. In this mode, "The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild" will able to track the protagonist and mark every step taken on the map. So, whatever progress players make, these will be shown on the map.

The Verge notes that with the said option, it is possible to identify areas that players have yet to explore. They will also have the ability to retrace their own steps, say, to a certain location. Doing so will also help them acquire the Travel Medallion, which is a new item that lets players place fast-travel points.
