"The Last of Us" fans are really itching for more action-adventure horror game from Naughty Dog, the game developer. There are some speculations that a reveal for the second part of the game may happen at the upcoming Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) 2016 this coming month.
There several signs that "The Last of Us 2" is in the works. GameRant reported that Nolan North, the voice behind Nathan Drake of the "Uncharted" series, mentioned and confirmed, in passing, that the game is being worked on. Then, GameSpot mentioned, that a former lead character artist of Naughty Dog, Michael Knowland, explicitly says on his LinkedIn resume, "The Last of Us 2 – 1 month prototyping head sculpts." MoviePlot added that the game was also mentioned on a live stream for "Unchartered: The Nathan Drake Collection."
There was even a rumor last February, that the sequel will be called "Days Gone."
Lastly, GamesRadar reported that Neil Druckmann, one of the studio's creative directors, mentioned that before he and his directing partner, Bruce Straley, were brought in for the "Unchartered 4" project, they were discussing "prototypes for different ideas within 'The Last of Us' universe."
Druckmann continued, "Our next focus is the single player ['Uncharted 4'] DLC and then, once we have enough resources, resurrect all those prototypes; see where we're at, see where the teams at, what they're excited for and go from there."
Inquisitr mentioned that one possible storyline for the upcoming game will be coming from the point of view of Marlene, the leader of the Fireflies group in the first game. It will then explore the story on how she gained her position.
"The Last Of Us" was released in June 2013 and has received critical acclaim from the gaming community. The game is aboutthe journey of Joel and Ellie in a zombie-infested world. Joel needs to bring the zombie-immune Ellie to another city and they have to fight their way against zombies, cannibals and other beings in order to achieve their goal.
E3 will happen from June 14 to June 16 at the Los Angeles Convention Center.
