Bethesda has already confirmed that it will be participating at this year's Electronic Entertainment Expo. However, the company remains tight-lipped on what it plans to showcase at the event. According to observers, one of the biggest reveals that fans expect from Bethesda is "The Elder Scrolls VI," or at least a direct "Skyrim 2" sequel.

In a recent tweet by Bethesda, the studio formally announced its attendance at the E3 in June. Hardcore fans observed, though, that while the studio has remained mum on what it will showcase at the event, its teaser image may give a hint at the game lineup, as one of the characters in the tweet is the Dragonborn from the "The Elder Scrolls" franchise.

This led to speculations that Bethesda may be planning to announce the next "The Elder Scrolls" installment at the upcoming event. Meanwhile, although the appearance of another franchise installment remains a rumor, Fans are already sharing their ideas on how "The Elder Scrolls VI" may take shape.

According to Crossmap, the next franchise title may be a direct sequel to "The Elder Scrolls V." In a recent interview, Bethesda's Pete Hines referred to the next installment as "Skyrim 2." However, he also stated that he believes "Skyrim 2" will not be happening anytime soon.

Bethesda is known to fully focus its team on one major project at a time. With "Fallout 4" already finished – including the expansion content already lined up for release – fans are expecting that the studio will be shifting its attention to another major franchise like "The Elder Scrolls VI." The timing is also right for a major project announcement, since the annual E3 is one of the major trade shows where developers normally unveil their major works.
