'The Elder Scrolls 6' release date news: Development has yet to begin; game targeted for distant future

"Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Special Edition," the current game available Bethesda Softworks

Although "The Elder Scrolls" fans have been hoping so hard that Bethesda Game Studios would begin working on a new installment for the popular open world action role-playing videogame franchise, it seems like gamers may have to wait for a very, very long while until they see "The Elder Scrolls 6."

According to a report by Game n Guide, though Bethesda has confirmed that they would be working on "The Elder Scrolls 6," it seems like the videogame developer has set the game's release to a distant future. The vice president of Bethesda's PR and marketing has revealed that the videogame developer's team hasn't begun working on the game despite promises that the game would definitely be making its way to shelves soon.

However, despite the expected extended wait for the development of "The Elder Scrolls 6," fans can still hope for the game to see release in the distant future. Bethesda has been giving hints on the development of the game, posting job advertisements searching for quest designers with experience on the construction set of "The Elder Scrolls." Todd Howard, one of Bethesda's game directors, also said in an interview back in March this year that three of the videogame developer's craziest projects were a long way off from where they began.

Still, gamers must remember that Bethesda is the kind of videogame studio that thinks about its project in the long-term sense and doesn't rush the development of its videogames. No one can expect the developer to give a rushed solid videogame release any time soon.

This uncertainty has left many "The Elder Scrolls" gamers at unease. Moreover, word has begun indicating that Bethesda would be busy working on other projects, with a report from VG247 saying that the videogame developer is planning to release a VR version of "Fallout 4" within a year. Hopefully, Bethesda will know how to proportion its efforts accordingly and remember to work on "The Elder Scrolls 6."
