"The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim Special Edition" was released last Friday, and by Saturday, there were already complaints about the game. The remastered edition is having some audio issues and developer Bethesda is already working on a fix.

Game fans posted on the Reddit forum to air their concerns about their recently purchased game. Their immediate concern is about the low-quality audio that they are experiencing while playing the special edition. One user said that the studio has "cranked the compression way up to insane levels" that it ended up worse than the original game.

A certain Lasur Arkinshade even posted an audio clip on Soundcloud comparing the new and the old version. Arkinshade explained, "A comparison between the level up sound in vanilla Skyrim and the extremely heavily-compressed level up sound in the Skyrim Special Edition. This is a demonstration of the quality degradation that has taken place across the game's audio. The vanilla sound is played at the beginning, the Special Edition sound is played at the end."

Bethesda did not wait for another day as a staff immediately replied to the post. They acknowledged the issue at hand and stated that they are looking into finding a way to fix the matter immediately. The studio is looking forward to rolling out a fix within the week.

Hardcore game fans, who cannot wait for an official fix, took matters into their hands. As posted, gamers extracted the original "Skyrim" sound file and installed it on the newer game version. "Seems to work fine," the user added. PC Gamer's even reported a detailed workaround that gamers can use.

"The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim" was originally released in 2011 and is an open-world action role-playing game. Gamers will play the part of a prisoner who has escaped prior to his own execution and journeyed on to the land of Skyrim. The special edition contains graphic enhancements such as snow shaders and volumetric god rays that make the game even better, visually. Bethesda will also introduce selected mods to the game on the console version.

"The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim Special Edition" is now available for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Windows PC.
