"The Big Bang Theory" is still on winter break, but there are only a few more days left before the show comes back on air.
Fans were pleasantly surprised with the midseason finale of season 9, which saw Sheldon and Amy finally consummating their relationship. The two suffered heartache all throughout the first half of the season due to their breakup. But now, all is right with the world once again with "Shamy" back together.
Now that another milestone has been reached by the couple, could marriage not be far off?
As avid fans may recall, Sheldon had intended to propose to Amy before she broke things off with him. He even had a family heirloom kept away safely for the occasion. Now that they've smoothed things over and even slept together, it's possible that the engagement issue might pop up.
Jim Parsons (Sheldon) and Mayim Bialik (Amy) sat down with Entertainment Tonight, together with executive producer Steve Molaro, to talk about the entire ordeal and the prospect of marriage.
"At some point in the near future, it will come up again," said Molaro. "It's not going to immediately, but we certainly have not forgotten about it."
Parsons also expressed his thoughts on the matter. "I would say no, but I didn't think that we'd be filming what we're filming now," he said. "So what do I know? [Sheldon and Amy] may have a child next week. I have no idea!"
Meanwhile, a teaser video for episode 12 was recently released. Although the season highlighted Sheldon and Amy's relationship for the most part, it looks like other characters are also going to get the same treatment.
In the clip, viewers find out that Penny (Kaley Cuoco) and Leonard (Johnny Galecki) are going to encounter an issue of their own. But it's not about their relationship per se; rather, it's about Sheldon. Penny and Leonard will find themselves talking to a psychiatrist (Jane Kaczmarek) about their problem after Penny tries to make a sales call.
"The Big Bang Theory" season 9 episode 12 titled "The Sales Call Sublimation" will premiere on Jan. 7 on CBS.
