MTV has tapped upcoming "Riverdale" star Ross Butler to join the cast of "Teen Wolf" for its sixth season.

Butler, who will portray the role of Archie Andrews' frenemy Reggie Mantle in The CW's pilot of the popular "Archie" comic book series-inspired TV show, will also be seen in the supernatural teen drama when it returns to MTV for season 6.

The actor is also known for his appearance in several TV series, including Disney Channel's "K.C. Undercover" and "Chasing Life."

According to The Wrap, the 25-year-old actor will play the role of a lacrosse player named Nathan. The character is reportedly a non-believer of any superstition or the supernatural powers, until he gets a first-hand encounter in Beacon Hills.

Could this mean that the new guy will join Scott McCall's (Tyler Posey) wolf pack next season?

Butler will join Pete Ploszek as the newest cast members for season 6. Ploszek will portray the recurring role of the new Beacon Hills High School teacher named Garrett Douglas. But while Nathan refused to believe in any supernatural activities, Garrett is speculated to have a connection with the Nazi Alpha werewolf that escaped during the season 5 finale.

While details about the next "Teen Wolf" season have been scarce, series creator Jeff Davis told TV Guide that season 6 will be about ghosts.

"Season 6 will bring in a new mythology and a very different problem. We're big fans of genre in the writer's room," Davis said. "With season 5b we said, 'This is going to be a monster movie.' With Season 6 we have a very clear idea that it's going to be a ghost story."

Meanwhile, Davis has revealed that the premiere episode of "Teen Wolf" season 6 will feature "something big" between Lydia Martin (Holland Roden) and Stiles Stilinski (Dylan O'Brien).

The release date for "Teen Wolf" season 6 has yet to be announced.
