After its release on Oct. 27, Nintendo's newest 3D platform video game "Super Mario Odyssey" is an instant hit to many Nintendo Switch gamers. The game quickly got perfect scores from online critics.

The game received a perfect score of 10 from IGN and TrustedReviews. Metacritic gave the game a 97% rating for its unique and adorable gameplay. Instead of a simple sandbox gameplay, Odyssey introduced new elements to the "Super Mario" video game franchise. Most positive comments from fans and critics mentioned the extensive worlds with distinct characteristics.

The adventure starts at the Odyssey, the hat-shaped ship Mario use to travel through various areas in his mission to save Princess Peach from Bowser. One of the objectives in the game is for players to collect Power Moons. These Power Moons serve as fuel for the Odyssey.

Many people acknowledged the exciting and engaging difficulty level of the game. However, finishing the main story is not the end. Players can still explore all worlds, capture new monsters, shop at Crazy Cap Stores, and find hidden items.

Instead of Luigi, Mario's partner in the game is his cap, Cappy. One of the newest element of the game is the many abilities of Cappy in terms of defeating enemies, revealing hidden items, and most of all, capturing and controlling enemies, machineries, and even a dinosaur. Nintendo managed to fully maximize the controls of the game. The enemy variety of the game includes old monsters and new ones.

Many publications hailed "Super Mario Odyssey" as the best Super Mario video game of all time. Over two million copies of "Super Mario Odyssey" were sold after only three days from its release date. Unfortunately, the game is exclusively made for Nintendo Switch. Many game critics are urging people to buy a Switch instead of a PlayStation 4 or an Xbox One because of "Super Mario Odyssey."
