'Suicide Squad' news: International trailer packs new footage; praises thrown Jared Leto's way for Joker performance

An international trailer for "Suicide Squad" is now making the rounds online, with snippets of new footage tucked in for a closer look at the second DC Comics live-action movie for this year.

Some scenes to take note of include Killer Croc getting ready to wallop Katana. Another one sees El Diablo go on his flame-throwing mode. The trailer also offers a glimpse of Will Smith donning the Deadshot mask.

There is also a considerable amount of scenes in the "Suicide Squad" international trailer involving Jared Leto's The Joker, which gives the impression that he will play a huge role in the film.

While the movie is all about the formation of the Task Force X, there's a great expectation of The Joker and how Leto will stack up against past movie iterations of the Clown Prince of Crime.

With the way the international "Suicide Squad" trailer was put together, it would seem that the colorful killer will have greater presence or at least impact in the film.

In the latest issue of Total Film Magazine (picked up by Techno Buffalo), Suicide Squad" director David Ayer had nothing but praise for Leto for his The Joker performance.

"What Jared has done is absolutely incredible. What he's done is so powerful, so menacing, so palpable, you can feel him. The crew stops working and just watches him," Ayer gushed. "I have to get everybody going again because he's so fascinating," he added.

Meanwhile, Warner Bros. Pictures has released a brand new photo of the members of the Suicide Squad lined up, showing that the group is not one to trifle with.

Along with the photo, "Suicide Squad" Ayer explained, via USA Today, that the motley crew of criminals is more than the wrongdoings they committed.

"These people who are rejected by the world, who think they aren't good people, beyond just 'Hey, we're villains and we do bad things' but are really people who believe they are deserving of love and friendship," he said.

"Suicide Squad" premieres August 5.
