Suicide Squad is still over a year away but one by one, the cast members are slowly being divulged. And the latest one to be revealed is the actor who will take on the role of Slipknot – Adam Beach.

Beach has been rumoured to be in the film but there was no official word prior on who he would portray. And now all that has been answered.

Ayer tweeted the photo of the Suicide Squad cast and Beach was among the new faces. For those who are unaware, Adam Beach is best known for appearing in Joe Dirt, Windtalkers and Law & Order: Special Victims Unit.

As far as to who Slipknot is, the villain is best known to be one of Firestorm's adversaries. His real identity based on DC comics is Christopher Weiss in real life. He originally worked for a chemical company where he develops formulas for durable ropes which later on would be his main arsenal.

Slipknot eventually joined the Suicide Squad where he eventually lost one of his arms.

With Amanda Waller warning all the members that their arms were armed with bombs, Captain Boomerang convinced Slipknot that the claim was fake. During a mission, Slipknot tries to run away from the set allowable radius. That however triggers the bomb and costs him his right arm.

Hence, if Suicide Squad does follow the animated series don't be surprised if the same sequence happens to Adam Beach (well as far as his character goes in the said film).

With Beach's insertion, he joins other previously announced cast members under director David Ayer.

Other cast members include:

  1. Jared Leto (The Joker)
  2. Margot Robbie (Harley Quinn)
  3. Deadshot (Will Smith)
  4. Jai Courtney (Captain Boomerang)
  5. Cara Delevingne (Enchantress)
  6. Joel Kinnaman (Rick Flagg)
  7. Viola Davis (Amanda Waller)
  8. Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje (Killer Croc).

Suicide Squad is set to hit theatres in the Summer of next year (August 5, 2016).
