Cartoon Network is set to release an episode each day that will lead viewers to the season 4 finale of "Steven Universe" by the end of this week. The final episode will be called "I Am My Mom." It will show Steven heading back to Homeworld to go up against Aquamarine and Topaz and hopefully, save the Gems and his friends. Fans of "Steven Universe" will need to keep their tissues ready as this episode is supposedly a tearjerker.

A clip of the upcoming episode has been released and it begins with Steven making a point to Aquamarine that he's not his father — but he is his mother, Rose Quartz. Steven makes this revelation in the hope of sacrificing himself to the Diamonds in order to save his loved ones — the Gems and his human friends.

The Gems are against what Steven is doing, but he believes that he has to finish what his mother started. Fans of "Steven Universe" may recall that Steven's mom Rose protected the planet Earth from the Diamonds because of their agenda to ruin the planet. By sacrificing himself, Steven shows that he's grown into a young man who will do whatever it takes to save the planet he loves.

After a long hiatus, the last few episodes will keep "Steven Universe" fans on their toes and anticipate what comes next in season 5. The finale of season 4 supposedly leads to the beginning of season 5, which will show a fight between the Diamonds and the Gems. Although the producers of the show have not confirmed this, the final episodes airing this week have kept up with the reported theme.

The "Steven Universe" season 4 finale, "I Am My Mom," will air this Friday, May 12, on the Cartoon Network. Season 5 is set to premiere in the same month, on Wednesday, May 31.
