"Star Wars" fans were a little bit concerned about C-3PO's red arm in "The Force Awakens" movie. Finally, after months of speculation, Marvel has released the comic book that reveals the story behind the protocol droid's red arm.

Marvel released the "Star Wars Special: C-3PO" comics last April 13. James Robinson and Tony Harris combined their talents for this one-of-a-kind special "Star Wars" story.

The official description says, "Follow everyone's favorite protocol droid as he Journeys to Star Wars: The Force Awakens, in this special one-shot leading up to his appearance in the film! Just how did Threepio get a red arm, anyway? Find out here as the blockbuster creative team of James Robinson and Tony Harris of DC's Starman reunite for the first time in nearly two decades! You may be fluent in over six million forms of communication...but this book is a must have in any language!"

C-3PO and several other droids are sent on a mission to rescue another droid named Omri, a First Order droid who has the information needed by the Resistance about Admiral Ackbar's whereabouts. The Resistance ship malfunctions and crash-lands. Eventually, C-3PO and the gang get hold of Omri, search for a TIE fighter that previously crash-landed, and use its transponder to call for rescue, as TheWrap reported.

The area is also inhabited by other creatures and proves to be a problem for the group. As the team travels around finding their way, the other droids are picked and destroyed one by one by the native inhabitants, until only two are left, See-Threepio and Omri.

See-Threepio and Omri eventually have some heart-to-heart talk, sharing an idea that their memories had been totally wiped out prior to their respective missions. C-3PO even suffers memory flashbacks, showing events that had happened back in the prequel films.

Eventually, the native inhabitants are not too keen on watching their vis-a-vis talk and decide to decapitate them, just like the rest. This is where C-3PO's arm gets torn off, but because of that arm, they are able to run further away from the danger.

ComicBook then added that the two ultimately reach the TIE fighter, but are forced to take cover before activating the distress beacon because of acid rain. Omri makes the ultimate sacrifice. After sharing the information about Admiral Ackbar to See-Threepio, the First Order droid runs toward the TIE fighter to send out the signal for help. The acid rain peels off Omri's current paint job, leaving the red color of its previous life.

Poe and BB-8 arrive later to pick up See-Threepio, who brings two pieces of Omri back to the resistance: the information it held and the red arm.

"Star Wars Special: C-3PO" is in stores now.
