Android 5.1 Lollipop update on Sony Xperia Z3 features details: Include significant improvements with latest OS download

Sony Xperia phone owners do not have to wait any longer since the Japanese company just confirmed that Android 5.1 Lollipop update for Sony Xperia Z3 should happen soon.

A video on YouTube only reinforces that the new update will arrive in Xperia phones. The video featured three devices — Xperia Z3, Xperia Z3 compact, and Xperia Z3 compact tablet — which were running on the new software update, 5.1.1 Lollipop.

The PTRCB has also awarded a certification for the latest update for Xperia Z3 carrying build number 23.4.A.0.546, as reported in VC Post. This piece of news only suggests that while Android 5.1.1 Lollipop has not been launched officially, it will be arriving soon.

According to reports, the software update will have significant changes. Icon sizes will be modifiable through the settings on the home screen.

Turning on the Bluetooth and Wi-Fi settings can now be done much quicker without having to visit the settings menu.

The software update is also expected to make options to customize volume controls and alert functions much easier.

Better LinkedIn integration on Calendar apps is also expected. The camera app will also be enhanced to produce better shots.

Additionally, the update will have SmartWear integration for SmartWatch 3 compatibility, which could also turn the watch into a camera shutter.

The upcoming Android Lollipop 5.1.1 update will not only roll out to Sony Xperia Z3 since the update will also be available for Xperia Z2 and Xperia Z2 tablet.

While Sony is mostly focused on releasing the update on the aforementioned devices, there's still a big chance that other Sony devices can also get the update.

The devices that could run on the latest Android software update include Xperia ZL, Xperia ZR, Xperia M2 Aqua, Xperia M2, Xperia Z Tablet, Xperia Z, Xperia Compact Z1, Xperia Z1, and Xperia Ultra Z.
