After the Taiwanese market got the first dibs on the newest flagship line of Sony Xperia, U.S. consumers can finally start pre-ordering the Sony Xperia X Performance and the other smartphones from the new Xperia X series through official retailers nationwide in July.
Major retailers like Amazon, B&H, Newegg, and Best Buy are already allowing their customers to place an order for Sony Mobile's latest product line, which was unveiled during the Mobile World Congress earlier this year.
According to the description posted on the Japanese mobile phone manufacturer's official website, the Sony Xperia X Performance is "designed for comfort and to impress from every angle, with its rounded glass edges, seamless brushed metal back, and form fitting 5" display."
The device comes with a scratch-resistant screen with 1080 x 1920 pixels resolution.
It is equipped with a Qualcomm MSM8996 Snapdragon 820 chipset and Dual-core 2.15 GHz Kryo & dual-core 1.6 GHz Kryo processor with an Adreno 530 GPU. The smartphone also comes with a 23-megapixel primary camera that features phase detection autofocus and LED flash, as well as a secondary front-facing camera with 13 megapixel resolution.
The Sony Xperia X Performance will be sold for $699 across all retailers, but the release date varies per retailer.
According to Android Police, Amazon appears to be gearing up for the release of the Xperia Performance X soon, but it does not indicate the actual release date of the product on their website. Meanwhile, Best Buy is expected to start shipping the device on July 17.
Meanwhile, those in Australia will also have the chance to purchase the Sony Xperia X Performance, as well as the mid-range device called the Xperia XA and its large-screen counterpart Xperia XA Ultra, and the Xperia X earlier than the U.S. Those who are living in the Land Down Under can start buying their smartphone units beginning June 23.
