Smart ForTwo has been revamped and now it's hitting the U.S. market this month.
The 2016 Smart ForTwo will be arriving to dealerships late this month and has been enhanced to suit the American taste.
The first little Smart ForTwo was introduced in America back in 2008 and it didn't really impress that much.
While a lot of people see the car as a really adorable vehicle, not a lot of them would be willing to include them in their choice of cars.
But the new Daimler smart car has undergone changes and according to company spokesman Christian Bokich, in a report from WardsAuto, the car is targeted towards specific customers.
The new Smart ForTwo, which has a base price of $14,650, is four inches or about 10.6 centimeters wider than its predecessor. It has now been made to be more stable and able to provide the driver and passenger enough elbow room inside.
The adorable car retains its length of 8.8 feet or 2.7 meters.
Smart claims that the ForTwo is the tiniest car ever in the United States. Apart from its wider design, the car also packs up various features that make the tiny vehicle more of a car.
The three-cylinder engine produces 89 hp and 100 ft-lb of torque and can reach a maximum speed of 96 mph.
Tiny as it is, it is capable of going zero to 60 in just 10.1 seconds, just close to a six-speed auto transmission.
The predecessor for the 2016 model lacked power windows and power steering, but the new version have all those. On top of that, it already has a cruise control, alarm system powered by Bluetooth, and optional rearview snappers and proximity alert systems.
Smart ForTwo is a vehicle made to be perfect for city use, according to the product manager, who told Yahoo's Neal Pollack.
Anything beyond city use may not be feasible for ForTwo, and it definitely is not a sports vehicle.
