Bethesda has confirmed that the upcoming "Skyrim Special Edition" game has gone gold. This means that the title is now just waiting for its scheduled release date later this month.
Aside from announcing the release status of the game, Bethesda has also come out with the requirements of the remastered version per platform. "Skyrim Special Edition" will be released on both console and PC versions. As the remastered game contains huge improvements in its design and graphics, it is already expected that the title will come as a huge download for players.
The game comes as 20 GB and 17 GB downloads in North America, on the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, respectively. Meanwhile, the title comes in at 33 GB and 25 GB in Europe, also on the respective consoles. According to Gamespot, "Skyrim Special Edition" comes heftier for the European versions, due to the addition of more custom languages for the game. The console versions will also support "Skyrim" game mods for the first time.
Meanwhile, the game will also launch for the PC, although it will only come out as a 12 GB file. However, even the minimum specs for the game point out that it will need a dedicated, hardcore rig. The minimum specs for the PC version include at least 8 GB of RAM and an NVIDIA GTX 470 or AMD HD 7870 graphics. The minimum processor is pegged as either an Intel i5-750 or an AMD Phenom II X4-945.
As the game nears its launch date, it is expected that more details will come out. According to Express UK, Bethesda executive Pete Hines has already confirmed that one of the showcases for the upcoming special edition is the expected gameplay trailer. However, the studio executive has not specified a release date for the trailer.
"Skyrim Special Edition" goes live on Oct. 28.
