"Scream Queens" concluded its first season with tons of cliffhangers and loose ends. And with no confirmed renewal as of yet, they're still hanging in the air, waiting for some closure.

Despite getting no official announcement for a second season, rumours are still abound and fans can't help but think of the many ways season 2 could be better than its predecessor. A popular speculation is that One Direction's Harry Styles will be joining the cast of "Scream Queens" when season 2 rolls around. Perhaps he's taking a page from Nick Jonas or Ariana Grande's playbook?

British-Irish boy band One Direction is currently on an extended hiatus after touring nonstop for four years and this seems like the perfect opportunity for Styles to explore his options and take up acting. Actress Lea Michele, who played Hester and—spoiler alert—the Red Devil—in season 1, has spoken out on the possibility.

While speaking to InStyle, she recalled the time creator Ryan Murphy revealed that he was in the middle of talking to a male pop star to appear in season 2.

"If it's Harry Styles, everybody better calm down. I love One Direction. Everybody knows this. I'm also thinking that he should be in the 'Wicked' movie. He's our modern day Mick Jagger," Michele gushed.

Styles' inclusion in the series will undoubtedly increase the show's viewership, considering that One Direction has a massive fan base.

But current fans of the show are probably biting their nails wondering what the next season has in store for them. There are, after all, a lot of possibilities.

Season 2 will reportedly take place at a new setting with only a few of the old cast members returning to reprise their roles. Hopefully, Emma Roberts, who played the fierce fashionista Chanel Oberlin, will be one of them.

Fans may recall that season 1's finale had her locked away in an asylum, only to be attacked once again by the Red Devil. Whether it was Hester tying up loose ends or a copycat killer lusting for bloodshed is unknown. And Chanel's fate is also up in the air, with fans of the blonde beauty hoping for the best.

Nothing about the plotline has been revealed or hinted at by Murphy, but knowing him and his past projects, it's going to be something surprising. He will likely try to top the first season, which was already both shocking and gruesome.
