Two love triangles will cause a commotion in the White House in episode 4 of "Scandal" season 7.
As the five-year series draws to a close, some open-ended loops will have to be closed. But if the next episode is to be the basis, that is far from happening in the scandalous lives of Washington D.C.'s elite.
The synopsis for episode 4, titled "Lost Girls," is docile enough. Olivia Pope (Kerry Washington) is busy running the free world — that's B-613 and the Oval Office — but an unexpected client will arrive at QPA to disturb her peace, if one could say that her life was ever peaceful.
Meanwhile, at the White House, Mellie Grant (Bellamy Young) is preparing for the upcoming Nuclear Summit. She is joined by President Rashad (Faran Tahir) and Prime Minister Nazari, but is it all business?
The episode promo, however, spells another picture. Fitz Grant (Tony Goldwyn) wants to be back in Liv's life, but she already has a new lover, Curtis Pryce (Jay Hernandez). Mellie seems to be enjoying her power at the Oval Office more than she's supposed to. "I can do whatever I want, whomever I want," she says in the teaser.
Last week saw Fitz's return to Washington D.C. since leaving the White House. But before that, fans first got a look at his new depressingly slow life after the busy day-to-day hustle of his former presidency. He couldn't even properly roast a turkey.
Marcus Walker (Cornelius Smith Jr.) arrived at his retirement home in Vermont to literally knock the sense out of him. After their brawl, Marcus tried to cool off by talking to Mellie over the phone, while Liv's father, Rowan Pope (Joe Morton), approached Fitz to ask for his help in bringing Liv back.
With Liv in charge of both the Oval Office and B-613, Rowan is afraid that her unlimited power is dragging her "into the darkness."
