Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 was introduced last month and a lot of details have been known since then; but the Korean tech company didn't reveal then anything on pricing and release date information for the U.S. market.

Samsung has announced the price and release date for two versions of the Galaxy Tab S2: the 9.7-inch and 8.0-inch models.

What's much more interesting is that the gadgets are now available for pre-order in the United States.

Droid Life reported that mobile carriers are also taking advantage of the availability of Galaxy Tab S2. The devices will soon be offered by T-Mobile on Sept. 3 and AT&T on Sept. 4.

Other mobile carriers like Verizon, Sprint, and US Cellular still have to confirm if they will offer the devices.

Meanwhile, the more affordable of the two versions is clearly the Wi-Fi only Galaxy Tab S2 8-inch model, which has a 32GB internal storage capacity and will cost $399.99.

The 9.7-inch Tab S2, on the other hand, will have a starting price of $499.99. Pricing for the devices offered by carriers will vary accordingly.

The Galaxy Tab S2 series will be available in white, black, and gold color options.

As for the specs, not much has changed from the earlier generation, but the tablets will be most recognized for their weight and thickness.

Both devices are currently dubbed as the thinnest tablets in the world; the 8-inch tablet weighs only 9.4 ounces, while the larger tablet weighs 13.8 ounces.

Both versions of the device will have Super AMOLED displays and 1536 x 20148 pixel resolution.

Inside, the device runs on an octa-core processor and has 3 GB RAM, an 8-megapixel rear camera, and a 5-megapixel front camera.

Samsung has not given out the specific model of the device's chipset, but according to PhoneArena, the Galaxy Tab S2 will carry the Exynos 5420 chipset from the first-generation Galaxy Tab S.

Pre-orders have started yesterday and can be also be made through Best Buy or Amazon, and according to Droid Life, these retailers are offering a $100 off from the price when customers trade in a qualified tablet.
