Samsung Galaxy Tab E 7.0, Galaxy Tab E Lite release date: tablets in the works?

Samsung has a lot in store from its E tablet line-up. After the release of the 8-inch variant in the U.S. and Taiwan, an unannounced smaller model called the Samsung Galaxy Tab E 7.0 makes itself known along with details about its specs and features.

According to Sam Mobile, the tablet carries the model numbers SM-T280 and SM-T285. It is expected to come with a 7-inch display with a 1280×800 screen resolution. Under its hood will be a 1.3GHz processor with a 1.5GB RAM boosting it up.

It comes with 8GB of native storage, which can be expanded with a micro SD card. The Samsung Galaxy Tab E 7.0 reportedly also features 4G connectivity and comes in black. There has been no word on the rest of the color options.

There's also no information as to when it will be launched. Its big brother just became available to customers of the U.S. carrier US Cellular and in Taiwan. Called the Samsung Galaxy Tab E 8.0, the slab has a Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 processor and offers 16GB storage space.

Apart from the Samsung Galaxy Tab E 7.0, another device called Samsung Galaxy Tab E Lite will reportedly also be launched by the South Korea-based tech firm in the near future.

Details remain elusive about this model but what's known is that it will have a special Kids edition, which Phone Arena says will come in a protective case and pre-loaded apps for youngsters. The standard version of the device will reportedly have Samsung's very own Kids Mode too.

Last year, Samsung released the first Samsung Galaxy Tab E model, which boasts a 9.6-inch 1280x800 display, a quad-core 1.3GHz processor and a 5MP/2MP camera combo.

Samsung Galaxy Tab E 7.0 and the Samsung Galaxy Tab E Lite are expected to be launched soon.
