Samsung Galaxy S7 release date, specs, features: benchmark test result revealed

It's usual for a device to be talked about so much even before its launch date and Samsung is one of the favorite subjects.

Rumors about the Galaxy S7, expected to arrive in spring of next year, is making the rounds lately.

Apple may have just introduced its latest phone, the iPhone 6s and 6s Plus, but Samsung will soon fight back, intensifying the competition with the upcoming S7.

According to a report from NeuroGadget, citing Korean publication Asia Times, Galaxy S7 will come in two variants. One will have a 5.2-inch screen while the other one will sport a much larger 5.8-inch screen.

Rumors suggest that the S7 will have a 4K display. It remains uncertain which of the variants will be having that resolution, but speculations point to the 5.8-inch screen as the better candidate of the two.

BGR also reports that the upcoming Samsung flagships will be powered by a Snapdragon 820 processor.

However, there have been reports that the company will test out two types of processor. One is the Snapdragon mentioned above and it will be tested in Western markets; the other one is Samsung's very own Exynos M1, which is to be tested in Asian markets.

What's more interesting is the leaked benchmark report found in Weibo, discovered by blogger Steve Hemmerstoffer and released last Thursday.

According to the leak, which dubbed the flagships as "lucky," the new device will have Adreno 530 graphics, a 16-megapixel rear cam, a 5-megapixel selfie shooter, and a 4GB RAM with 64 GB internal storage capacity; it will be powered by Android Lollipop 5.1.1.

Despite the rampant rumors about Galaxy S7, nothing has been confirmed yet.

As for the release date, the device is said to be unveiled in February next year, according to sources from Samsung Korea as reported in GforGames.
