Ronda Rousey to appear in 1989 movie remake

Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) women's champion Ronda Rousey continues to make herself busy inside and outside the octagon. After successfully defending last time out against Bethe Correia, she is expected to fight to keep her title once more this coming November against Holly Holm.

Those are her recent and upcoming endeavors in the UFC. Now, how about the outside?

Well, everyone knows that part of Rousey's itinerary includes starring in some films. She has already appeared in movies like Expendables 3 last year and earlier in 2015, she was also seen on Furious 7 and Entourage.

Now, she jacks up her Hollywood commitments to four with news that Rousey is set to star in the remake of 1989 film "Roadhouse."

For those who are not familiar with it, the original movie starred the late Patrick Swayze who portrayed the role of a bouncer for a tasked to clean up the wild bars in Missouri. Swayze would be put to the test when he needed to protect the town from a corrupt businessman.

It will be her fourth film commitment. Aside from Roadhouse, Rousey will also be busy with "My Fight/ Your Fight," "The Athena Project," and "Mile 22."

So as it stands right now, Rousey has a full plate ahead but like before, none of them should affect her preparation for Holly Holm in a co-main event at the UFC 193 in Australia this coming Nov. 15. The fight was actually scheduled for January 2016 but an injury to Robbie Lawler had forced the UFC to push the match to an earlier date.

Rousey herself spread the word about her upcoming film last Sept. 10 via social medium Twitter.

Rousey wanted the part so bad that she went as far as reaching out to Lisa Niemi, Swayze's widow, to ask for permission. Niemi, of course, gave her blessing.
