The marriage between Morty's parents, Beth and Jerry, has always been chaotic from the start. But it seems like series creators Justin Roiland and Dan Harmon and writer Ryan Ridley has plans to move forward with their story in "Rick and Morty" season 3.

Since the first episode of the animated sci-fi comedy series, fans of the show can see that Beth and Jerry are in a rocky relationship, yet they always manage to sort things out by the end of the episode. They also went on a couples' therapy on a different planet just to fix their issues. But it seems like things will change when the series returns next season.

Geek.com revealed that, on the commentary track that came with the DVD release of "Rick and Morty" season 2, Harmon compared the idea of Beth and Jerry's indecisiveness regarding the having a divorce with the life of the "South Park" character Kenny, whose life is always uncertain at the end of each episode.

The series co-creator admitted that they initially thought that it could be a long-running joke since it is common for kids to think that their parents will get a divorce. But the viewers under the Millennial demographic are getting tired of this arc, so they will start to move Beth's story forward in season 3.

However, he did not reveal if it means that Beth and Jerry will finally decide to end their tumultuous marriage or not.

Meanwhile, early reports claimed that the third season of "Rick and Morty" will have more episodes compared to the first two episodes since it will have 14 episodes this time. Season 1 only has 10 episodes, while season 2 comes with 11 episodes. This means that the new installment of the animated series will be more fun and poignant. Yet, Adult Swim remains mum about the season's official release date.
