"Resident Evil 7" was revealed during the Electronic Entertainment Expo 2016 and will arrive by January 2017. A game demo was also showcased by Capcom, the game developer and publisher, to the delight of the fans. Those who have played the demo were able to discover something interesting, an encrypted message that is believed to be connected to "Resident Evil 2 Remake."
In the "Resident Evil 7" demo, a player needs to put in a video tape on a VCR, and as the tape starts playing, the screen shows a series of numbers. Now, a fan exerted some extra effort figuring things out from that specific clip, and posted it on NeoGAF. After some exchange of ideas, fans have deduced that the particular set of numbers pertains to the first "Resident Evil" that happens to contain a playable demo for its second game.
Now, players are speculating that a playable demo of the remake will also arrive once "Resident Evil 7" is officially released, similar to what happened before. One fan even suggested that the "Resident Evil 7" may be a reboot already, thus the similarity.
Additionally, Capcom announced that the seventh installment in the series will be available to the Xbox One and the PlayStation 4 by next year. It was also mentioned during the recently concluded expo that it will also have virtual reality support.
Master Herald reported that the company intentionally put those clues there. It is a mystery for the fans, and it needs to be solved. The company representative said that they want the players to keep on guessing for fun or simply wait when "Resident Evil 7" rolls out.
The report also mentioned that during E3, Masachika Kawata, the series producer, said he wanted the game to go back to its horror roots. Many fans do agree that the last few games in the franchise have strayed away from that idea. He also said that he is happy with the response of fans and gamers during the show, and it simply means that they are on the right path in giving the players what they want to have.
"Resident Evil 7"will drop on Jan. 24, 2017, but no other information is available yet about the remake.
