'Resident Evil 2 Remake' release date: remake uncertain as fans speculate on meaning of finger in 'Resident Evil 7' demo

Resident Evil 2 Capcom

"Resident Evil 2" fans are speculating that a demo of the remake will be included in "Resident Evil 7." This is due to a clue uncovered by fans when Capcom offered a short demo for "Resident Evil 7." Meanwhile, gamers are baffled by a mannequin's finger found in the recently released demo.

A fan posted an image on NeoGaf that shows a series of numbers that corresponds to the ID number of the director's cut of "Resident Evil." This version contains a demo game for "Resident Evil 2." Gamers are now guessing that the company will also put a demo of the remake in "Resident Evil 7." It may also be included in a bundle pack, similar to the director's cut of the first game.

However, Capcom has not issued any statement about the rumor surrounding "Resident Evil 2 Remake."

In the meantime, "Resident Evil" fans were currently comprehending the use of the finger in the demo in which one needs to escape from a house. It may sound easy, but fans have already combed through the basement, the ground floor, the second floor and some sort of a hidden area, to no avail. It seems that there is no way out, Video Gamer reported.

The report also mentioned that Capcom is closely watching the community's every action, even reading theories of fans posted on forums. Nobody has really escaped the structure. The company then decided to prolong the suspense even further and they sent a note to its Resident Evil Ambassadors, with a photo of the finger and a caption that says, "The path for now is closed, but patience... ." And that is where the demo ends.

Fans are looking forward to "Resident Evil 7," since the remake will not arrive anytime soon. The new game is scheduled to hit the shelves on Jan. 14, 2017, and will be available for the PlayStation 4, PlayStation VR, Xbox One and Windows PC platforms.
