"Reign" season 3 just wrapped up its fall finale episode and fans will have so many questions this winter as the show goes on a hiatus.

The good news for "Reign" fans is that the show now has a return date, which will be on Jan. 8, 2016, as seen in the promo trailer (shown below).

In the previous episode, Mary (Adelaide Kane) and Prince Don Carlos (Mark Ghanimé) were initially doing fine and getting along back in the finale titled "The Hare and the Hound."

But suddenly, the prince changed his plans after British Ambassador Gideon Blackburn (Ben Geurens) threatened to reveal to the King of Spain about his son's sexual secrets. It was revealed that the prince is into S&M.

Catherine (Megan Follows) believed that forging an alliance with Spain is important for the Kingdom, which is why she supported Mary's plan to win Don Carlos' attention. Mary gave the S&M a try with Don Carlos. Catherine was also there to assist giving the whip to the blindfolded prince without his knowledge.

When he learned of this, he felt betrayed and embarrassed that he stormed out of the sex room tripping and stumbling to his death. Mary and Catherine would have to deal with the cover-up of the death.

Now that the Prince of Spain is dead, an alliance between Scotland and Spain is not happening.

In the next episode, the kingdom of Spain will be featured and what that means for "Reign" fans is that Mary and her kingdom are expected to deal with more threats, according to CarterMatt.

In the trailer, Mary was spotted saying that Spain is coming for her kingdom and she's in danger of losing control over it. She needs to decide if she will run from the threat or continue her reign. But she's also heard saying that she will not back down and will do anything to save Scotland.

What will happen to Mary and Catherine, knowing that they were present at the time of the Prince's death? Fans will have to tune in to find out more about how the two royals will deal with it and how Mary is going to face Spain when "Reign" season 3 returns in January.
