"Red Dead Redemption 2" is an upcoming game from publisher Rockstar Game, and it is scheduled to arrive in fall next year. Since it is still too early for its release, the studio has not given much information to fans. Here is a rundown of the things known so far with the game, along with some rumors.

The gaming community was shaken last Oct. 16 when the studio published on its Twitter account an image of the company's logo on a red background. The following day, seven human silhouettes replaced the logo, with the addition of a sun setting in the background. Finally, on the third day, Oct. 18, the game title was finally announced along with its expected release date. The seven human figures also got bigger and show wearing wild-west outfits

Two days later, the first game trailer was released, and it described the game as "an epic tale of life in America's unforgiving heartland." Nothing much was also given away by the trailer, just the typical scenery and environment related to the western era. However, the seven figures that were on the poster were seen again, this time riding their horses across a vast piece of land. Up until now, the relevance of the seven figures is unknown, unless it has something to do with the "Magnificent Seven" movie.

"Red Dead Redemption 2's" official website did not reveal additional details about the game except that it will only be available for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. This information prompted PC gamers to vent out to Rockstar, that they will not be included again when the game gets released, similar to the second game of the series. A petition was even started online for a PC release. However, experts on the matter suggested that there is a possibility that a PC version will still arrive even if it was not announced. This was the same situation when "GTA V," another game from the studio, was announced. A year later, its PC version arrived.

Fans are now speculating that the upcoming game will happen several years before the first "Red Dead Redemption" game. The upcoming game is a prequel and not a sequel. The environment is said to be less occupied, has more caravan camps, and is expected to be wilder than before.

Fans will have to sit this one out until Rockstar Games release additional information for "Red Dead Redemption 2."
