'The Real Housewives of New York' season 7 recap: 'Birthday in the Berks'

A scene from episode 9 of The Real Housewives of New York season 7 Bravotv/ The Real Housewives of New York

This week on "The Real Housewives of New York," the ladies headed to the Berkshires to celebrate Dorinda Medley's birthday, trouble brewed between Heather Thomson and Bethenny Frankel, and Dorinda defended her boyfriend from Kristen Taekman's accusations.

Ramona Singer and LuAnn de Lesseps shared a ride to Dorinda's country estate and, upon arrival, they were joined by Heather, Kristen, and Carole Radziwill. Everyone settled in for drinks and the ladies appeared to be getting along just fine until Ramona started complaining about Dorinda's boyfriend John. She told Kristen that she thought John was too flirty when Dorinda walked in. Encouraged by Ramona's presence, Kristen told Dorinda that with her, John was being "touchy-feely" and mentioned the time when they all went out dancing.

But Dorinda wasn't having it and said that Kristen was right there with John and was "shimmying with him."

"You're a married woman. Your husband was there. You're a mother," Dorinda argued. She told Kristen that she thought that the way she behaved was very inappropriate, especially since Kristen's husband was with her.

Kristen insisted that she walked away, which prompted Dorinda to snap at her: "Don't play coquettish with me!"

She then began to cry about her deceased husband and how he was the love of her life. Touched, Kristen and Ramona decided to back down, and Dorinda told them that John sincerely loves her and that she'd defend him to the end.

Bethenny arrived just before dinner, and she revealed that she's allergic to certain kinds of fish, which made the sushi dinner a little difficult for her. She told everyone not to fuss — she'll find something else to eat since she wasn't even supposed to be there and showed up unexpectedly. However, Heather insisted on handling Bethenny's dinner herself, which upset both ladies.

Heather tried to explain her intentions, but Bethenny resisted and said that she didn't want attention.

"I just want it to be light … I don't want to get into anything," Bethenny sobbed. "I just want the wall up, I just don't want to deal with anything."

"The Real Housewives of New York" airs on Tuesdays at 9 p.m. on Bravo.
