Min-Liang Tan, co-founder, CEO, and creative director of Razer, recently unveiled their latest offering, the Razer Blade Pro. The company decided to make it the most powerful gaming laptop and put on the NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080 graphics chip.
The Razor Blade Pro has opted for the Pascal-based GTX 1080 GPU that comes with an 8 GB GDDR5X VRAM to give the most enjoyable gaming experience from a laptop. The latest offering also comes with a quad-core 6th gen Intel Core i7-6700 HQ processor that can go up as high as 3.5 GHz. It is then paired with a 32 GB DDR4 RAM and a 64-bit version of Windows 10. It is also VR ready, which can easily run the HTC Vive and Oculus Rift. It then offers a 512 GB SSD Raid 0 storage solution as standard, or one can opt to have either a 1TB or 2 TB SSDs.
The machine also offers a massive screen size, pegged at 17 inches, with its IGZO UHD G-Sync. It offers a 16:9 ratio, 3840 x 2160 resolution, and LED backlight display. The machine also contains individually backlit ultra-low profile mechanical keyboard that supports Razer Chroma.
With all of the powerful components inside the chassis, one would wonder about the cooling solution that it has, considering it is only 22.5 mm thin. Razer engineers have designed and developed, probably, the thinnest vapor chamber cooling system for this particular model. There are also three fans inside that helps circulate the air and several thermal management features that are company secrets.
Additionally, the Razer Blade Pro also features a Killer Wireless dual-band WiFi adapter, Thunderbolt 3, three USB 3.0 ports, HDMI 2.0 video and audio out, and an SDXC card reader. Plus, it also contains built-in stereo speakers with Dolby Digital Plus Home Theater technology, 3.5 mm headphone/mic combo port, and a 2 MP webcam.
This makes the 17-inch Razer Blade Pro the most powerful machine available from the company. Its specs are way above those of the 14-inch Razer Blade (with the NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060) and the 12.5-inch Razer Blade Stealth (with Intel integrated graphics).
The Razer Blade Pro starts at $3,699, and it is expected to roll out in November.
