There is only one episode left before the "Quantico" season 2 finale, and things are heating up as Alex (Priyanka Chopra) infiltrates deeply the circle of the Collaborators.

In last week's season 2 episode 20 titled "Global Reach," Alex was able to infiltrate the Collaborators; however, it came with a consequence. While she may have kept her cover intact by preventing Ryan (Jake McLaughlin) from saving all the targets of the Collaborators, this resulted in the resignation of President Claire Haas (Marcia Cross).

According to the episode synopsis, in season 2 episode 21 titled "Rainbow," an "impossible choice" is made, which will be followed by a stream of new proposals that will shed light on the final phases of the Collaborators' plan. Although disbanded, the task force and some old friends reject defeat as they work together to figure out what the plan is before the Collaborators can launch an "unthinkable terrorist attack."

Showrunner Josh Safran recently had an interview with Entertainment Weekly, wherein he explained why Alex's undercover involvement with the Collaborators is important to the story and how this is going to play out in the season finale.

"The good news is with the Collaborators, she now has a front-row seat to what they do next," he told the publication. "The whole season arc for Alex has been, from the beginning, she's been very uncomfortable with the moral gray area. Now, she's found her footing, and she has to do bad to do good, but the question is, can she stop Roarke and whatever the Collaborators are after? That's what we're going to find out."

He also revealed what the upcoming episode is going to look like. "Our next episode is our big action episode, so there are a lot of fights. You get to see us use a hell of a lot of tricks to pull off a huge action sequence," Safran said.

"Quantico" season 2 airs Mondays at 10 p.m. EDT on ABC.
