The filming for the fifth season of "Prison Break" has officially concluded, and actor Dominic Purcell believes that at least another season could be in the works.

In an Instagram post, Purcell thanked his co-lead Wentworth Miller for another chance of working with him in the fan-favorite serial drama thriller.

He also teased that if fans already enjoyed the first season of the series, they should also look forward to the fifth season, which he believes is just as good. Purcell also claimed there is a big chance of having a season 6 after the network has released the upcoming season.

While FOX has yet to announce the official release date of the show's reboot after airing its last episode in 2009, speculations about the new installment continue to spread on various news sites.

According to reports, Purcell's character Lincoln Burrows and Miller's Michael Scofield will have a role reversal in season 5.

In the first season, Scofield was the one who infiltrated the Fox River State Penitentiary to help Burrows escape from prison. He used a very intricate map that was tattooed on his back to guide him in the escape.

For season 5, speculations claim that Burrows will be the one who will get inked with the map of a prison facility in Yemen to help save his brother, who they all thought died at the end of season 4.

But fans will also find out why Scofield faked his death at the end of season 4, and how he ended up in a Yemeni prison.

Aside from Purcell and Miller, other returning cast members include Sarah Wayne Callies as Sara Tancredi, Robert Knepper as T-Bag, Amaury Nolasco as Sucre, Rockmond Dunbar as C-Note and Paul Adelstein as Congressman Paul Kellerman.

"Prison Break" season 5 is expected to premiere on FOX in 2017.
