Fans of the augmented reality game "Pokémon Go" can hatch their Pokémon eggs quicker through the game's Easter Event.

At 4 p.m. EDT on Thursday, Niantic launched the Easter Event of "Pokémon Go" called the "Easter Eggstravaganza." The said event gives the players the chance to maximize their Pokémon eggs through several perks.

For one, players are able to hatch their in-game eggs at a faster pace during this period. Aside from this, the two- and five-kilometer eggs also produce rarer Pokémon during the Easter Eggstravaganza.

In an observation done by Forbes, it noticed that the Pokémon hatched from the two-kilometer egg includes several characters typically from the five- and 10-kilometer categories such as Larvitar and Lapras. Meanwhile, the three generation 2 Pokémon, namely, Cyndaquil, Chikorita and Totodile, are now hatching from the five-kilometer egg. Back then, these Pokémon are not even hatched in any of the eggs.

In addition to these, players who take advantage of the said event also earn more bonuses. For example, players earn one to three more candies per hatch. They also earn double experience (XP) in the duration of this event.

Meanwhile, players who are interested in shopping for lucky eggs should also maximize the "Easter Eggstravaganza" as several items are on sale. Also, those who utilize lucky eggs in the Easter Event can earn quadruple XP.

Prior to Niantic's announcement regarding the Easter event, there were several rumors and speculations on what may be offered for the players. Team Eevolution, a group of fans, shared that there will be a double XP event. The group also predicted that the event will bring in better hatch rates that will give the players a chance to earn rare Pokémon. The group's forecasts are quite consistent with the actual mechanics of "Pokémon Go's" Easter event.

The "Easter Eggstravaganza" will end next Thursday, April 20, at 4 p.m. EDT.
