'Point of Interest' season 5 spoilers: What to expect

 CBS Official

"Point of Interest" is set to come back next year when the show was partially ordered for 13 more episodes for season 5.

There's no exact release date for the next season yet, but fans have been given hints on what to expect from the shortened season.

"Point of Interest" cast members Sarah Shahi, Michael Emerson, Amy Acker along with Kevin Chapman and Jim Caviezel talked to Entertainment Weekly during the New York Comic-Con earlier in October to talk about season 5.

The most notable tease about the show is how Emerson revealed that season 5 will probably be the last for "Point of Interest" and it's expected to showcase powerful episodes.

Being the last season, Emerson explained that the series will have "some climaxes, there's going to be some wrapping up" and that casualties could possibly happen.

Fans will also get to see more of the romance between Shaw (Shahi) and Root (Acker) in the upcoming season, as revealed by Shahi herself.

Many are looking forward to another kissing scene from both characters but Shahi would not say if fans will get to see the characters do it again. Acker did mention, though, that they have a connection.

In the last episode of season 4, fans saw the casualties resulted from the war that took place between the Samaritan and Machine.

Shaw was thought to be dead but she actually walked away appearing to have formed an alliance with the Samaritan forces. Mr. Finch (Emerson) was also seen together with Reese (Caviezel) and Root shooting agents for Samaritans.

Season 5 will reportedly pick up from where season 4 left off, with Finch grieving over what happened to the Machine.

Shaw is confirmed to come back, as reported in Entertainment Weekly, but it remains to be seen what happened to her after walking away with Samaritan's agents.

"Point of Interest" will return to CBS with a new season sometime in 2016.
