The third season of "Penny Dreadful" is still 1 and 1/2 months away. But the latest trailer for the next installment of the horror drama thriller is already giving fans the creeps.

In the new trailer, Vanessa Ives (Eva Green) is seen inside what seems to be a padded asylum cell. A bloody love scene is shown as Vanessa reminds herself that she has "been touched by Satan."

Green shared a few details about Vanessa's struggles in "Penny Dreadful" season 3 in an interview with E! News.

"At the beginning of season three, Vanessa is not the Vanessa that we are used to," the actress revealed. "It's as if her armor has been stripped away. She's stuck in this vicious circle in which she's lost all sense of who she really is."

Green also revealed that her character will also interact a lot with Patti LuPone's new character in the series, Dr. Seward. She will help Vanessa "deal with her demons."

"I want you to do something that you believe might make you happy," Dr. Seward says in another sneak peek for season 3. Green said that Vanessa will follow the doctor's order, and she will go to the Natural History Museum where she will meet a man named Dr. Alexander Sweet (Christian Camargo), who will have a big effect on her this season.

Could this mean that Vanessa will finally forget about Ethan (Josh Hartnett), who broke her heart in season 2?

The new season will also introduce the new character named Kaetenay, portrayed by "Hell On Wheels" star Wes Studi. The character is described as a perplexing Native American who is reportedly connected to Ethan and will eventually become Sir Malcolm's (Timothy Dalton) ally.

"Penny Dreadful" season 3 premieres on May 1 on Showtime.
