'Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door' (Paper Mario RPG) 3DS caused quite a stir a couple of days ago, thanks to leaked photos which were later on confirmed to be fake.
This despite the initial excitement and rave among gamers who remember the game so well caused quite a fuzz which even surprised the perpetrator himself, a certain FawfulTheGreat64 who later on apologized via marioboards.com for apparently leading people to believe that the leaked photos were authentic.
FawfulTheGreat64 did the trick using Adobe Photoshop and Premiere, which were later on uploaded to YouTube. It was later transformed into GIF images which as many know by now went viral.
Prior to the admission of his guilt and that everything was indeed fake, many are still tinkering with the idea on whether it is indeed 100% fake. For something that caused such a frenzy, there are apparently still a lot of people who are hoping that game would somehow re-appear.
The only thing certain right now is the confirmation of Nintendo CEO Satoru Iwata that there will be a low-budget remake of the game specific to the Nintendo 3DS. And apparently the said leak of the game which originally debuted in 2004 led many to believe that this was the game that they were waiting for. Sadly it isn't, as admitted by FawfulTheGreat64.
For his part, FawfulTheGreat64 seems to be pretty good at faking some leaks. He admits that this isn't the first time he has done it, having done so with a fake Mario Kart 8 before.
And while that previous try apparently failed to spur some attention, he decided to come up with something that was coincidentally a hot topic and something many were obviously keeping tabs with.
Now as it turns out, many dreams were shattered and FawfulTheGreat64 drawing the ire of 'Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door' followers.
