'Overwatch' release date news: Pre-order deals revealed

 Blizzard

"Overwatch," one of the most highly anticipated games, will be released by Tuesday, May 24, 2016 after a long closed beta period.

Those who want to get the game digitally should visit the game's website's store section. It will contain the pertinent directions for preparing digital copies, and this could be different depending on the platform used. Pre-ordering the game through the website will garner the player a "Noire Widowmaker skin" at the official game launch. However, for those buying their own physical copies from various game shops, getting it early gives various pre-order bonuses.

According to MJ Games, various shops such as Walmart, GameStop, Best Buy and Dell Home are offering various deals. For Walmart, they really made sure that both the PC and Console versions of the game will have 18 percent discounts with free shipping. As for Collector's Edition, it's at 27 percent off at Walmart.

What's more is that these are pre-order copies of the game, which means that by buying "Overwatch: Origins Edition," players are entitled to various bonuses not only in the game but also in other games as well. For "Overwatch," players will receive either a Blackwatch Reyes or Strike-Commander Morrison; Mercy's Wings will be given in "Diablo III"; "World of Warcraft" gets a Baby Winston Pet; "Starcraft II" gets in-game portraits; and finally "Heroes of the Storm" gets the most popular and controversial character Tracer as a hero.

The official website for the game gives details on the game's launch day in order to ensure a smoother game experience. A specific post tells about the deployment schedule of the game, which will follow the same exact time and date regardless of gameplay region and platform.

With the varying timezones, some players will be able to get "Overwatch" by May 23, and they include most regions in the United States. For those in the West Coast, the game will be released by 4 p.m. PDT while those in the East Coast will get it by 7 p.m. EDT.
