'Overwatch' news and updates: Sombra will be playable for this weekend's free access

A lot of fans are excited for this weekend since Blizzard's new hit game, "Overwatch," will be available for free from Nov. 18–21. What's more, players will also be able to use the newest character to the game, the teleporting hacker genius, Sombra.

According to Gamespot, Sombra will be included to the character roster this weekend which makes it a total of 23 playable heroes in the game. Free players will also be able to gain access to all 13 maps and different game modes like Quick Play, Custom Games, and the Weekly Brawl. What's more is, free players will also be able to get prizes like loot boxes as they play, and they will also be given the option to customize their characters in the field.

According to the official "Overwatch" blog, the game will be available for all platforms which include the PC, the Playstation 4, and the Xbox One. PC gamers who want to play for free need to have a Battle.net account; PS4 players should be subscribed to Playstation Plus; and Xbox One gamers need to be members of Xbox Live Gold.

The free period is said to be available starting Nov. 18 at 2 p.m. EST and it will end on Nov. 21 at 7 p.m. EST in all gaming regions.

Any player who wants to join in on the promo can just go to the official blog where it includes instructions on how to play for free; and it also includes detailed schedules on the game's availability. There is also a column for frequently asked questions (FAQs).

"Overwatch" is steadily growing to be one of the most popular games by Blizzard, and it has been taking the Internet by storm with huge amounts of memes, comics, and fan art.

"Overwatch" will be free this weekend starting Nov. 18 and ending on Nov. 21.
