Fans of "Outlander" will be thrilled with the latest news — the show's second season is arriving sooner than expected.

The release date has been teased by none other than show executive producer Ron Moore, Zap2It reported.

While show regulars Sam Heughan and Caitriona Balfe have been busy filming in various locations for the new season, Moore recently took to Twitter in a Q&A portion some of the details of the upcoming "Outlander" season 2.

One "Outlander" fan straight up asked the question of the premiere date and Moore responded that while there's no set date yet, viewers should look forward to March or April 2016.

The executive producer also revealed that the series production is going "really well" and he even feels "optimistic" about the plotlines for season 2.

The series has been shot mostly in the United Kingdom until this season. Recently, "Outlander" cast and crew moved to Czech Republic, Prague in particular, since it looks more 1740's Paris. Zap2It reported that most of the exterior scenes will be shot in Czech Republic.

"Outlander" season 2 will pick up from where it left off in season 1, in which Jamie Fraser (Heughan) and Claire Randall (Balfe) were seen heading to France to have an audience with Bonnie Prince Charlie (Prince Charles Eduard Stuart) in the hopes of stopping the Battle of Culloden from happening, as noted in RealtyToday.

The royal will be played by Oxford School of Drama graduate, Andrew Gower.

Season 2's storylines will also be based on the second book by author Diana Gabaldon, entitled "Dragonfly in Amber."

While Moore himself admitted that season 2 will be more exciting, there could be elements that are different from those found in the book.

Even though the show might incorporate major changes, new characters from the original source are expected to be featured in the upcoming season — for instance the case of Roger, who will be appearing in the second season, as revealed by Moore.

However, casting news for the character has yet to be revealed.
