Fans have yet to wait for the announcement on the exact release date of "Orange is the New Black" season 4, but they should expect the prison-themed Netflix series to return sometime in 2016.
Season 4 has completed filming, as revealed by some of the actors. For instance, Taylor Schilling, who plays leading-lady Piper Chapman in the comedy-drama series, posted on Twitter announcing the wrapping of the filming.
"Filming for @OITNB Season 4 is finally complete!" the actress wrote on Dec. 8. Danielle Brooks, who plays Tasha, also joined in posting about the season being completed.
With these announcements, it is speculated that the series will be back in June 2016, according to Moviefone, since "Orange is the New Black' has been taking the June premiere slot for the past two seasons.
Meanwhile, it is confirmed that Laura Prepon's Alex will be back for season 4. In the previous season, she encountered one of Kubra Balik's (Eyas Younis) men, who posed as a guard at the correctional facility.
Since Prepon was spotted on the set filming, it could only mean that Kubra's minion didn't go after her. However, that doesn't also mean that Alex is far from danger, International Business Times noted.
And there's that question on whether Alex will end up with Piper. According to Prepon herself, her character and Piper are loved by many, especially when paired up together. Prepon told People in an interview, "Everyone wants Alex and Piper to end up together," comparing the characters as the Rachel and Ross of "Friends."
So what will happen to the other side of the love triangle, Stella (Ruby Rose) then? Rose, in an earlier interview with Variety, revealed she doesn't know Stella's fate in the show or if she'll return for season 4.
"I think they've already started shooting in New York and I'm obviously not in those episodes. I think if Stella were to come back, it would be a pretty hefty storyline," Rose revealed.
