'Orange is the New Black' season 4 should end Alex Vause's story; Britney Spears to join cast?

 Netflix

"Orange is the New Black" (OITNB) is one dramedy series that's been accepted very well by viewers and it's only right that Netflix had given the go signal for a fourth season.

For the new season, fans will still have to get a dose of Alex Vause (Laura Prepon), a controversial character who was seen to have survived an ordeal. As TV Guide reported, Alex will be back with vengeance.

Back in season 3, Alex had an encounter with some people whom she suspected as having association with the Litchfield inmates. She was seriously injured and even almost met her demise, but she survived it all and vowed to go after the person who's behind the attack.

That means season 4 will see Alex back again, as also confirmed by TV Guide. In addition, actress Prepon also posted on Instagram confirming her comeback as she's shown holding up her prison badge.

Prepon may bring back Alex, but not everyone will be thrilled, especially for reasons described in a write-up from Movie Pilot.

The article stated that while Alex's character is very important in the first two seasons of the show due to her relationship with Piper, the same thing cannot be said now that the latter has found a new life.

Alex has already done her part in their relationship and the report stated that the show would be better off without her story.

On the other hand, Prepon did reveal that Alex and Piper will always share a connection and will end up being there for each other no matter the situation.

Meanwhile, OITNB season 4 will reportedly cast a new face — Britney Spears, Entertainment Tonight reported.

According to the report, actress Taryn Manning, who portrays Tiffany Doggett in the series, was the one who teased about the singer's appearance in OITNB.

Manning, who co-starred with Spears in 2002's "Crossroads," expressed her desire of working again with the "Baby One More Time" hitmaker, mentioning that she would do wonderfully in the series and that she could take on the role of any character.

Season 4 of "Orange is the New Black" will return to Netflix in June 2016.
